She’s With Me

Suzanne Guthrie is the host of the television show Today, and recently her family has been living through a nightmare. Her mother, age 84, has been missing since she was abducted from her home on February 1, 2026. At the time of this writing, her whereabouts are still unknown.

I can’t begin to imagine the agony this experience must be for her family—the sleepless nights, the unanswered questions, and the constant ache of not knowing.

In her first interview since her mother’s abduction, Nancy said she cried out to God. And in that moment of desperation, she sensed Him speak:

“She’s with me.”

That simple sentence carries profound weight. It could mean that God is watching over her even now—that she is not alone, even in the darkest circumstances. Or it could mean something deeper—that she is ultimately in God’s presence.

Either way, the message is the same:

She is not beyond His reach.

Ascension Sunday is May 17, 2026. It is the day we remember Jesus ascending back to the Father. The disciples watched Him go, and suddenly He was no longer visible to them.

And yet, He had promised:

“I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20).

They could no longer see Him—but He could see them.

That truth still holds today.

We live in a world where so much feels uncertain and unseen. We don’t always know what God is doing. But we can trust that He sees us, knows us, and holds us.

So, let me ask you:

Where in your life are you longing for answers?

Where are you tempted to believe that God is distant or silent?

What would it look like to trust that even when you cannot see Him, He sees you?

The message “She’s with me” is not just for one grieving family. It is a reminder for all of us: no matter where we are, no matter what we face, we are never outside the presence and care of God.
